I’ve just been reminiscing and looked you up on the internet. It never crossed my mind that you had reached the ripe old age of 40. Had I done this a month ago, I would have made the effort to come over for the celebrations.
Congratulations to all concerned. Dad would have been so proud of what you have achieved. I can still remember those first days. He and the other founder members were so determined (in the face of some considerable disapproval) to give soccer a chance in Rush. All of our early memories of playing soccer were on the beach. Does anyone else remember the goal posts and cross bars stored on the harbour side and brought onto the beach to play when the tide had gone out? An elaborate iron base with wooden posts.
Long may you have fruitful developments and thank you for paying tribute to dad and his fellow founder members.
